The ICU is well equipped with intensivists and highly trained nursing staff round the clock. Bedside echocardiography, multichannel monitoring, including IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pump) facilities and sophisticated respirators are available.

The Cardiology Intensive Care Unit receives adult and elderly patients from the Emergency Room, transfers from other facilities, direct admissions from the Cardiology Clinic, cardiac procedural patients, intra-hospital transfers and ICU overflow. Patients also move from the Intensive Care Unit to the Cardiology Inpatient Unit, a 30-bed unit including intermediate care beds.
